DroneEar does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data. All processing happens 100% on your device.

Overview

DroneEar is an acoustic drone pattern identification app that processes audio data entirely on your device. We are committed to protecting your privacy and designed DroneEar with a privacy-first approach.

Data We Do NOT Collect

Audio recordings — Microphone input is analyzed in real time and never recorded or saved.
Location data — GPS coordinates are used on-device only for environment detection and are never transmitted.
Personal information — We do not collect names, emails, phone numbers, or any identifying information.
Usage analytics — No analytics, tracking, or telemetry data is collected.
Bluetooth data — BLE Remote ID scans are processed locally and never uploaded.
Device identifiers — We do not collect device IDs, advertising IDs, or fingerprints.

On-Device Processing

All audio analysis, machine learning inference, BLE scanning, and sensor processing happens entirely on your device. No data is sent to any server. DroneEar does not make any network requests for its core functionality.

Permissions Used

Microphone — Required for real-time acoustic pattern analysis. Audio is processed in memory and never stored.
Location — Used to determine indoor/outdoor environment for analysis accuracy. Stays on device.
Bluetooth — Used to scan for ASTM F3411 Open Drone ID broadcasts from nearby drones.
Motion sensors — Compass data used to estimate sound source direction.

Third-Party Services

DroneEar does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. There are no SDKs that collect or transmit user data.

Data Retention

Detection history is stored locally on your device only. You can delete all stored data at any time from the app settings. Uninstalling the app removes all data permanently.

Children's Privacy

DroneEar does not collect any data from any users, including children under 13. The app is safe for all ages.

Changes to This Policy

If we update this privacy policy, we will post the changes on this page with an updated revision date.
